Television News Director Jobs
The television news director is responsible for motivating, teaching, and mentoring a diverse newsroom. The television news director must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. He is responsible for day-to-day operations of television newsroom and website content, budgeting and hiring of news staff and maintenance of journalistic and legal standards. The television news director directs and coordinates activities of news department of the television network. He confers with executives and production staff members regarding budget, station policy, news coverage of special events, and production problems. The television news director originates or approves news feature ideas and sends ideas to personnel of assignment department for implementation. He also monitors news development and reviews edited copy and news film. The television news director is also responsible for approving program content or issues directions for changes or modification.
A minimum five years experience managing newsrooms with demonstrated skills as a strong leader, teacher, and motivator is needed in the potential candidate. The qualified candidate must have achieved a baccalaureate of higher degree in journalism or related field or equivalent related experience.
