The Vice President, Multiplatform Distribution creates the strategy, manages the content and operates the distribution of NGC &Wild programming on MVPD VOD, FOD, TV Everywhere and assists as needed with programming/windows and metadata needs of Home Entertainment and Content Sales.
To define and manage the multiplatform strategy for NG Channels content across non-linear platforms, such as TV Everywhere, MVPD VOD and Hulu. Present strategies to EVP, Programming & Strategy and CEO of Global Networks.
To champion the needs and importance of the nonlinear business across the organization and outside.
To direct the implementation of the nonlinear programming strategy across platforms for the deployment of full episodes, as well as complementary short form videos, by the Multiplatform team and supporting departments across National Geographic and FOX.
To take the lead with our distribution partners to ensure our content is represented according to brand standards and work with internal creative, marketing and product teams to ensure the best consumer experience.
To convey our strategies and priorities and negotiate marketing opportunities both internally within National Geographic and FOX, and to our external partners, as well as gather intelligence in return to drive strategy and tactics.
To lead and push the continued product development that is currently in progress, from updating our network consumer TV products and apps, to overhauling our video management system, and centralizing our nonlinear scheduling system.
To collaborate with FOX, FX, international channels, content sales, home video, and the digital/social teams to ensure best practices in strategy, workflow and technology are deployed and all strategies are complementary.
To analyze the performance of our content, both in views and revenue, working with the Insights & Analytics and Finance teams, to generate reports for the team and executive management and drive future strategies and projections.
To manage the budget for operations and general administration.
Experience in programming, editorial, curation.
Experience in distribution, video platforms, apps and products.
Product development experience.
General video literacy including general knowledge of specs, aspect ratios, etc.
General understanding of cable TV and affiliate relationships, and nonlinear revenue streams and partners.
Experience working in various CMS systems.
Quick learner with a professional demeanor, capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines with urgency
Proficient communication in oral and written forms, presenting information for executives and the company-at-large, and in motivating and directing teams across the organization.
Willing to travel domestically and internationally, 4-6x/year.
