Digital Content Assistant','FOX0003U2','Americas-US-FL-Fort Lauderdale','!*!FOX Sports Florida is searching for a Digital Content Assistant to join their team in Ft. Lauderdale. The position will support all Web and social media initiatives as needed for FOX Sports Florida and FOX Sports Sun. The incumbent will assist the Digital Content Manager by editing and creating Web content, clipping and publishing video from linear broadcasts, cropping and publishing photos and creating graphics in Photoshop. Candidates must have an understanding of best practices for websites, social platforms, mobile applications and search engine optimization (SEO). Additionally, this person should have a working knowledge of sports media and teams covered in Florida, particularly broadcast partners (Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Miami Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays, Florida Panthers, and Tampa Bay Lightning). Most work shifts will be on nights, weekends or both.
Assist in the editing and publishing of both written and video content for websites and social platforms (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.)
Clip and publish video from pregame and postgame shows and other sources to websites and social platforms
Edit and post stories on websites and update home pages
Support additional social media efforts, including live tweeting during games and distribution of content
Create written content and graphic components (such as tune-in messaging) for websites and social platforms
Work with other departments in various capacities, including the coordination of content and strategic plans across platforms, supporting sponsor-driven content, participating in meetings and conference calls, etc.','!*!
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or other communications-related field.
1 year of online production experience with news or marketing background.
Knowledge and understanding of social media and current tools are essential.
Knowledge of AP style and experience with HTML and basic graphic editing tools such as Photoshop Creative Suite and Adobe Premiere Pro.
Self-directing, self-motivating and able to work well with a diverse group of people - must possess pioneering spirit with a desire to learn emerging technologies.
Ability to handle a large number of variables in the daily news workflow, including short deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed.
Working knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and the basic elements of graphic editing software (such as PhotoShop Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid and Final Cut X).
General sports knowledge, strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a creative fashion without supervision and while under pressure.
