Hawaii News Now (CBS and NBC affiliated television stations), the dominant news organization and premier multimedia company in Honolulu, Hawaii has an immediate opening for news photographer to join our team. The successful candidate should have at least one year of photography experience and shooting broadcast news is ideal. Live truck experience is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or related area preferred. Must be proficient with digital camcorder recording and techniques, lighting and audio production, both in the field and in studio environments. Must be proficient with non-linear digital edit platforms (Edius, Adobe Creative Suite, Avid).
Must be willing to embrace emerging technology, such as smartphone live capabilities and digital editing. Must be able to carry 50 lbs. a minimum of five (5) feet. Must be in good condition to carry and operate required gear. Good driving record and drug screen are required. The successful candidate is a team-player, reliable with initiative, and has excellent communication skills. Must be able to troubleshoot on the fly and problem solve under pressure. Candidates must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule including nights, overnights, early morning, holidays and weekends.
