THE EMPLOYER NEWS ENVIRONMENT: Employer News is a 24-hour news network that requires employees be flexible and available to work various shifts throughout the day, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays. The network is currently focused on the morning news, which means your day will start in the middle of the night, but it also means your workday will end around noon (most days).

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR: Employer News seeks a Supervisor Studio Operations to be responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations within all Studio and Production Control environments. Collaborates with operations and editorial leadership and personnel, in developing and executing a production strategy for the assigned News Channels. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervise day-to-day Studio Operations including scheduling personnel and prioritizing requests from Content Producers. Oversee day-to-day Studio Operations for weekend productions.
Collaborates with Sr. Director Operations and Operations Manager to ensure television studios meet all requirements for daily production.
Oversee personnel training and development related to new technical skills, technical equipment, and overall career development.
Schedule assignments for production personnel and facilities.
Contributes to the design of systems and workflows for maximum utilization and efficiency with regard to cost, maintenance, performance and integration.
Create and maintain weekly staffing and production schedules.
Oversee time entry; critically asses time card entries to ensure accurate and timely entry by all studio personnel.
Develop, recommend, and implement various workflow procedures.
Coach and develop direct reports.
Enforce Company and Department policy and procedure.
Clear and timely communication to all levels of the organization.
Collaborate with Operations Management to design, implement, and manage operational plans for television events and long term organizational initiatives.
Develop freelance personnel pool to ensure seamless studio and production operations.
Test equipment to ensure proper operation.
Research and analyze products, systems and methods currently utilized or being developed to remain current on broadcast trends.
Create and oversee training initiatives for Production Operations personnel to increase production value of network. Mentor all employees.
Participate in planning and brainstorming sessions relating to future productions and facility requirements. Contribute technical suggestions on behalf of production personnel.
Other duties as assigned.
Excellent knowledge of studio and live studio production and television operations.
Must demonstrate outstanding time management skills, ability to manage concurrent tasks, and delegate work to qualified personnel.
Expert knowledge and experience in at least one Control Room or Studio position.
Ability to instruct and train others in the operation, maintenance, and proper handling of television production equipment.
Strong understanding of the organizations goals and objectives.
Experience producing content utilizing both Dalet and Adobe Premier strongly desired.
Technical production skills and a knowledge of video production switchers, audio boards, robotic camera systems
The ability to trouble shoot automated production applications in a non traditional production environment
An overall understanding of Dalet news room tools for production and media management
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
5 years experience in Television or News
1 year supervisory experience

* Provide 24x7, 365 days per year, on-call support. May entail phone or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other disasters. This includes, but is not limited to equipment and power failures, loss of contracted services, storms or severe weather, and loss of staff members
* Participate in an established on-call rotation
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at varying distances
