Night Shift (6:30pm-3am) Cut-to-clock, Packaging
Responsible for packaging pre-produced, pre-edited broadcast programs to clock while addressing technical and content issues that adhere to domestic and regional specifications.
RESPONSIBILTIES & DUTIES
Edit video and audio broadcast assets independently or under supervision while following strict editing guidelines and internal workflows.
Fix technical issues and show content in order to meet quality control standards and end-user requirements.
Make editorial decisions within provided guidelines.
Manipulate text and graphics within pre-built packages for versioning needs.
Perform media management and project archiving duties as assigned.
Provide guidance to freelance editors and assistant editors as needed.
Work collaboratively with internal groups such as Media Management, Engineering, Scheduling, and Ingest/QC throughout the edit process.
Notify engineering of equipment problems and discuss workflow issues.
Collaborate with a team to solve technical and scheduling problems as needed.
Other duties, as needed.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
High efficiency in the Adobe Suite, specifically Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder and Photoshop.
Must be familiar with the different broadcast and digital specifications within the network environment.
Must have experience working with HD and UHD footage
Must have experience working with 5.1 audio tracks
Must be able to work with a variety of frame rates and video codecs
Must have basic compression knowledge
Competency in basic math. Must be able to add and subtract minutes and seconds.
Strong working knowledge with Mac and Windows Operating Systems as well as Microsoft Word/Excel and FTP skills.
Knowledge of ScheduAll, Dalet, Outlook and VPS a plus
Must have problem-solving skill and perseverance to help resolve technical issues that may arise.
Must be detail oriented and possess excellent verbal and written skills.
Must have the ability to work unsupervised without a producer present.
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
Must possess the ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects with a professional demeanor and prioritize work while under pressure.
Must have strong customer service/client relations skills.
Must be able to provide impressive samples that demonstrate editing abilities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Video/Film Production, Communications or related field is preferred.
3 years’ work experience as an editor.
Experience Adobe Premiere and After Effects required.
Knowledge of other motion graphic and image software are a plus.
Spanish language skills a plus.
Experience with all video formats, standards conversions, camera and file formats, video compression, media management and MAM systems is very helpful. Ability to troubleshoot and fix technical problems.
