Hawaii News Now (CBS and NBC affiliated television stations), the dominant news organization and premier multimedia company in Honolulu, Hawaii has an immediate opening for a highly creative and highly motivated senior newscast producer for our top rated, fast paced, four and a half hour morning show Sunrise.
This is a leadership position that requires a team player who is an aggressive decision-maker on coverage, content, show direction, graphics, and multi-platform journalism, while maintaining brand dominance. Must be able to line produce, write compelling news stories and work well under pressure and tight deadlines. Must be creative and thrive on morning staples, including breaking news, weather and traffic.
Example of Duties Performed:
Plan, structure, write and edit newscasts, or other news programming or material, and multi-media properties.
Produce and edit editorial content directly to website.
Work with our morning reporters to conceptualize, coordinate and approve story packages to conform to station policies, practices, and procedures.
Develop, plan and research morning show segments with the Executive Producer.
Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field.
A minimum of 3 years of producing experience, strong showcasing skills, and familiarity with ENPS are preferred.
Skills/Abilities: Must work well in stressful situations, meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be self-motivated and adaptable to changing schedules. Excellent writing, spelling, and typing skills required. Must have good creative and editorial judgment. Must work well with news personnel, other station employees, and the public. Must be available for shift changes, nights, weekends, holidays, and possible overtime hours.
