Job DescriptionTitle: Client: Major TV Broadcast NetworkLocation: New York, NYType: W-2 Full TimeRate: DOE - Competitive Salary + 0T + benefitsStart: ASAPDescription:Major TV Broadcast Network is seeking a highly qualified to support all live and pre-recorded broadcasts from its facility located in New York, NY. While you will be part of the Engineering and Operations, team, this is a hands-on role that requires the ability to independently determine methods and procedures for assignments. You will serve as the Engineer in Charge during your assigned shift and must also be proactive in identifying and executing new projects covering preventive maintenance and system/workflow upgrades. The ability to coordinate initiatives between Broadcast Engineering and Operations, IT, Post Production, and Management is essential.Scope of Work:EngineeringSupport and execute live and prerecorded programmingEnsuring all transmission equipment is calibrated and operating correctly for live event telecastsConducting quality control of all incoming and outgoing feedsTroubleshooting, repair and maintenance as neededDocumenting and correcting of all technical problems.Working with users and technical services team for the implementation, installing, and debugging of systemsProviding routine preventive maintenance and repairProject ManagementResearching and recommendation of solutions to managementProject design and coordination with outside contractorsDeveloping Audio, Video and RF solutions and conceptual engineering design specificationsGenerating equipment lists, floor plans, and rack and console elevations, test plans and test systemsGeneral ManagementDaily interaction and communication with engineering, technical, and production staffEnsuring compliance with company and FCC standards and guidelines.Participation in ad hoc projects with other departments including IT to improve workflowQualifications:Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other advanced technical or science degree.At least 5 years related work experience in the Broadcast Television industryMust be knowledgeable in all areas of technical production and familiar with all studio production equipment including Broadcast Audio, Video and Control Systems, Video Servers, Storage Area Networks, & RF Systems, Editing and Post Production Systems, etc.Experience in HD and SD broadcast and experience troubleshooting signal flow including RF and fiber networks.Detailed understanding of IT networking and Systems, Firewalls, Fiber-Optics, MPEG, SAN and RAID based systems, TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP, Active Directory, Windows Servers, Mac OS XKnowledge and experience with Linux, UNIX, SQL, Postgre sql, and database administration is a strong plus.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio a big plus.Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Project.Ability to function well under pressure, i.e. during live broadcastsStrong analytical and reasoning skillsMust have strong communication skills and be a team player Company DescriptionFor over 20 years, Technical Operations, Inc.
